Computer Room

September 2004

A major consideration for our Russia sites concerns the fact that the climate restricts our kids to the indoors for many months of the year.  With this in mind, as well as to contribute to the education of the kids and to provide them with the opportunity to learn basic computer skills, -essential for their futures, we established a computer classroom at Kemerovo Children's Home #1.  This involved the complete reconstruction of a large common room at the orphanage and the installation of seven computers, including hardware, software, and peripherals.

Project Cost:  US $3100
Donors:  OSI Christmas Card Fundraiser (coordinated by Patricia Savona) and Valery Gavrichtchaka
-with additional contributions from Denise Hove, Lory Bauer, Sherry Hickman, Elaine Landmark, and Miles Rains
